Here’s a fun little personality test that you can do yourself. It’s a lot of fun to do with a group of friends because then you can compare results and the answers that people put down are always hilarious and insightful.

What makes this test particularly interesting is that it’s easy to do and to remember, so you can have some fun with it at parties or just about anywhere. The results are not very scientific, but they give you an intuitive look at yourself, and they are based on common things and words that you can easily associate with real personality traits.

The test

Take a plain sheet of paper and fold it into 6 squares (as in the picture). There are 6 questions and the instructions are simple; write down your answer to each question instantly. Don’t think about it - just write down the first thing that pops into your head. Here are the questions for each square:

1. Write down the first animal that comes to mind. And also write down 3 words describing it
2. Next, write down a second animal. Add three words to describe it
3. Now write down a third animal. Describe it with 3 words
4. Write down the word ocean and use 3 words to describe it
5. Write the word wall and use 3 words to describe it
6. Lastly, write down the word cup and describe it with 3 words

Do the test yourself before you read any further to see the answers.

Remember, the key is to do this quickly and not try to over-analyze it while you’re writing the test. It shouldn’t take more than a minute or 2 to do. If you get really stuck then you’re trying too hard to think of something good - just write down what comes to mind even if it doesn’t seem relevant. If you do this with a group, there will always be someone who says “I don’t know what to put down“. You might have to badger them to just write down the first thing they think of, which is good because the pressure will throw them back into a more intuitive state of mind.

The answers

Here are the answers and I’ll put them all in this paragraph instead of list form so they don’t pop out off the screen if you want to do this test yourself first. The first animal signifies how you see yourself. The second animal shows how others see you, and the third animal is how you think others see you. Your description of the word ocean, gives you your view on life. The three words you wrote down for the term wall, signify your view on death. Lastly is the word cup. Whatever you wrote down for cup is your view on sex, and this one always gets some very funny results. Your results for ocean and wall are usually very interesting and insightful into the nature of your personality, and the first three questions will give you a mix of humorous and insightful things.
