Great Gifts with Picture Frames
So many people have digital cameras that they pack around to special events, occasions, parties, whatever. The great thing about them is that you can see instantly how the picture turned out, you can print them out yourself, or you can get your best pictures printed out professionally without spending money on printing a whole roll of film, just hoping they turn out good. Digital cameras make it relatively inexpensive to capture great moments anytime and anywhere. So why not share some of them.
Plain wooden picture frames are very inexpensive and they’re just waiting for you do dress them up and add a personal touch. For holidays, occasions, or “just because”, a custom picture frame with a “good times” photo makes a fun gift. You can find picture frames for your project at most dollar stores or crafts shops. And you can also find everything you need to add a little sparkle to them at these stores as well (if you don’t already have what you need at home).
Frames and pictures both come in standard sizes. 5 by 7 inches is a good size for a project like this. The best kind of frame is a flat, unfinished plain wooden frame. To dress it up, you can paint it, sticker it, glue rocks, shells or whatever onto it - just about anything your creativity can come up with. When painting the frame, try and choose colors that work with the photo you’re using, or think about the person you’re giving this to. What’s their favorite color? What colors would look good with their decor? For glueing stones or shells onto a frame, a hot glue gun works best, but if the objects are not too large or heavy, you could use regular white glue.
